Mother dressed son for rape, court told

A Denver woman on trial for sexual assault repeatedly dressed her son as a schoolgirl, painted his face with make-up then led him to his father, who would rape him as she watched, prosecutors said. She never sexually touched her children.
But according to prosecutors, the 40-year-old woman on trial in Denver helped her husband sexually assault her son and daughter for years.
The prosecutors say she would hold down her daughter as her husband raped the girl.
The girl was first sexually assaulted when seven.
"They share a terrible, unthinkable horror. They've been raped," prosecutor David Lamb said of the children. "Not on the street, not in an alley, but in their home. Not once, not twice but over and over and over.
"But even more unthinkable, it was at the hands of their parents."
The boy is now 18; the girl 10.
Their father, 59, has pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child and faces life in prison.
The mother faces 24 counts, including sexual assault on a child and aggravated incest.

Defence lawyer Chuck Leidner, in a blistering rebuttal, said the mother and her children were prisoners in a home controlled by the iron fist of the husband. Using physical violence against them and limiting their movements, he terrorised them and used them for his sexual perversions, Mr Leidner said.
The disabled mother, who walks with a cane, was repeatedly hit with a fist, handcuffed and chained to a bed, Mr Leidner said.
Her husband warned her that if she called police he would kill the children, slice them into pieces and freeze their remains.
Mr Leidner said the abuse came to light when the mother fled the Denver home in August 2004, after being severely beaten by the husband.
Domestic violence charges were filed against the husband, but these were dropped when the son decided to tell police about the decade of sexual assaults, Mr Leidner said.
Before going to police, he told his mother what he wanted to do. She responded by driving him to the police station, Mr Leidner said.
Mr Leidner plans to call a series of mental health and domestic violence experts who will testify that the mother is the most psychologically damaged woman they have seen.
The son testified that he saw his father beat his mother about 100 times a year. Yet, he said, she was the one who would wake him at night, give him a dress, blouse and bra, and prepare his make-up so his father could rape him.
