Na een behoorlijk eind richting het zuiden te hebben gereden kwam het Mixfight team uiteindelijk aan in Maastricht waar in Sporthal de Geuselt (waar volgens de ethousiaste ringspeaker alles gebeurde) de viede editie van het Star Muay concept zou plaatsvinden. Promotor Muhammet Yildiz is een groot fan van het echte Muaythai en had niemand minder dan Saiyoknoi Pumphangmuang en Samranchai 96Penang op zijn matchmaking staan! Beide vechter zijn oude bekenden in Nederland en vooral Samranchai heeft in Nederland en Belgie tegen de nodige tegenstanders gevochten (van Nimwegen, Merza, Erraji, Dijkstra en Staring) en geniet nog van een ongeslagen status in de lage landen.

Samranchai vocht op K1 regels tegen de lokale held Warren Stevelmans en Saiyoknoi op FMT regels tegen Harry Lodewijks. Van deze twee hoofdpartijen brengt Mixfight zijn lezers een uitgebreid fotoverslag (verslagen vanuit twee verschillende hoeken) en natuurlijk nog een gehele wedstijd- en backstageserie!

We willen de promotor Yildiz (en ook onze persoonlijk bediende Titiana) hartelijk danken voor de gastvrijheid! Het gala was ondanks Pinkpop toch redelijk druk bezocht en de sfeer was goed te noemen! De avond verliep vlekkeloos en deel V beloofd alleen maar beter te worden!

Na de partij storte AC Antonia letterlijk in elkaar en moest met een ambulance worden afgevoerd. Gelukkig zijn enkele Mixfight reporters ook BHV'er en kon Bart eerste hulp bieden....

Harry Lodewijks VS Saiyok Pumphangmuang

De organisatie van Starmuay is, zoals de naam al wat laat doorschemeren, een organisatie die zich ook hard maakt voor het echte muaythai. Tijdens de 1e editie van Starmuay zagen we al Danthai Singmanasak winnen van Tarik Slimani, ging Nontachai Sit Or onderuit tegen Karim El Jouhrati en versloeg Petchake Sor Suwanpakdee Hassan el Hamzaoui. Voor deze 4e editie had men wederom twee Thaise vechters over laten komen. Samranchai 96Penang en Saiyok Pumphangmuang.

In eerste instantie zou Saiyok uitkomen tegen Younnes el Hamsani maar deze partij ging niet door en verving Harry Lodewijks Younnes. Een zeer dappere actie van Harry want deze Saiyok is niet de eerste de beste Thai en de werd de partij ook nog eens op full muaythai rules gevochten! Niet alleen is Saiyok de regerend kampioen van Thailand in het weltergewicht maar ook een zeer harde vechter die nogal eens op KO wint. Ook in Thailand! Denk maar eens aan de gehavende Singsiri Por Sirichai na zijn titelgevecht met Saiyok. En ook in Nederland had Saiyok op Slamm!! zijn visitekaartje al afgegeven tegen Fikri Tiyarti.

Harry Lodewijks trok zich echter weinig aan van deze status en zette gelijk druk op de Thai om deze niet zijn eigen spel te kunnen laten spelen. Saiyok vond dit niet fijn en na een paar keer goed met stoten geraakt te zijn zag je hem kwaad worden en trok hij zijn wapenarsenaal geheel open. Al snel vond hij het wapen om de partij te beslissen: lowkicks! Saiyok beschikt over snoeiharde linkse lowkicks waar hij ook in Thailand al vaak mee huis gehouden heeft. Zo ging Bernung Sakhomsin ko op zijn benen om de WMC titel in Thailand tegen Saiyok.

Tot drie maal toe bezorgt Saiyok met zijn lowkicks Harry 8 tellen. Deze trappen zijn zo hard dat Harry enkele malen een stuk van de grond loskomt door de impact ervan. Toch weet hij van geen opgegeven en gebaart na elke 8 tellen naar zijn hoek door te willen gaan. Na de derde 8 tellen echter wordt de partij toch gestaakt omdat verder gaan geen nut heeft.

Winnaar op TKO in de 3e ronde Saiyok Pumphangmuang.

Warren Stevelmans VS Samranchai 96Penang

Warren Stevelmans maakte zijn grote doorbraak met het winnen van de K-1 MAX Nederland. Dit bracht hem tot de laatste acht in Japan waar hij uiteindelijk zijn Waterloo vond tegen Andy Souwer. In zijn laatste partij had Warren ook al tegen een bekende Thai gevochten in Zweden. Hier vocht hij tegen Orono Vor Petchpun op Thaiboksregels. Een partij die op punten verloren ging. Hier in Maastricht stond hij weer tegen een bekende Thai. Deze keer wel op zijn eigen K-1 regels maar dan wel tegen een Thai die momenteel nr.1 in de ranking staat van Thailand in het superlichtgewicht, Samranchai 96Penang.

Samranchai is in ons land een grote bekende die al vele landgenoten heeft bevochten. De laatste tijd is hij buiten Thailand wat minder in actie geweest en richtte hij zich weer op de Thaise muaythai scène waar hij in korte tijd zich weer terug naar de top vocht. Door zijn buitenlandse partijen was hij lange tijd niet in actie gekomen in Thailand maar na een paar partijen had hij alweer de nr.1 positie in het superlichtgewicht van Thailand geclaimed.

Beide heren vochten de partij uit op K-1 regels maar dan geen 3 x 3 maar 5 x 3 deze keer. Het wordt er in ons land met allerlei bonden en regels niet makkelijker op. Was dit K-1 gevecht over 5 ronden, de volgende dag waren we op een gala waar weer op Thaiboksregels werd gevochten maar dan weer geen 5 x 3 maar op 3 x 3! Iets vergelijksbaar zal je in andere sporten toch niet gauw zien voorkomen.

In dit gevecht waren beide heren goed aan elkaar gewaagd. Warren voelde zich als een vis in het water en scoorde er lustig op los met zijn combinaties. Samranchai kwam met zijn zware trappen gevolgd door een stoot. Hierna stopte het voor hem echter deze keer waar normaal het vervolg op zijn eigen spel van clinchen, knieën, evt werpen en ellebogen volgt. Toch vocht Samranchai een aantrekkelijke partij ondanks zijn beperkingen en zette hij en Warren een mooie partij neer. Aan het eind was het echter wel duidelijk dat Warren terecht met de overwinning naar huis ging. De partij was nu eenmaal op K-1 regels en dat spelletje beheerst Warren nu eenmaal veel beter dan Samranchai.

Warren boekte een mooie overwinning waar niets op af te dingen valt. Toch vraag je je eigen af wat de meerwaarde is om een Thai te halen op deze regels. Enkele Thais zijn redelijk thuis in het K-1 spelletje zoals Buakaw en Yodsaenklai maar voor 99% van de Thais is dit een totaal andere wereld. Nu willen we ook niet zeggen dat alle Thais op full muaythai regels moeten vechten hier maar op Nederlands Thaiboksregels is toch wel het minimale. Wat ons betreft gaat deze partij nog een keer op herhaling op Thaiboks of muaythai regels.

zag vandaag ook niemand in ede van de zelfde sportschool als ac.
en die doen meestal niks zonder hem erbij, dus het zal jammer genoeg nog wel erg zijn.

Beste leden en bezoekers,
Het gaat weer heelemaal goed met ac. In de ziekenhuis bleek dat hij geen vocht meer had in zijn lichaam.De reden:2 dagen voor de partij kreeg die buikklachten (diaree) door voedsel vergiftiging. Daardoor had die heel weinig vocht in zijn lichaam.Met inspanning in de wedtstrijd en weinig vocht kreeg de lichaam ook minder zuurstof,en ging die gewoon plat zonder klap of iets.
Hij moest wel 4 dagen in de ziekenhuis liggen.
Hij is weer heelemaal in orde.En er komt een 2 de en laatste rematch tussen ac en jhon .Als jhon dat wil zeker.
1ste keer was het voor Ac .
2de keer voor Jhon.
3 de ???? gaan we zien....
