UFC President Dana White on the horrific death of Michael Kirkham

Dana White got a little up in arms about the death of Michael Kirkham from injuries he sustained in a recent MMA fight, and as much as it might pain you to agree with White, he’s completely correct in what he has to say on this topic:
“This is the safest sport in the world when done properly.

That fight lasted 22 seconds. It’s not like this was some three-round war where this kid took a lot of head damage. I’m no doctor, but I believe there was a pre-existing injury that they didn’t find in pre-fight medicals.

The bottom line is I don’t care what state it is, what commission, if that company doesn’t have enough money to do the proper medical tests on the fighters before and after the fight, go open a doughnut shop. Go do something else. Open a laundry mat. This isn’t the business you should be in.”

maar hoeveel organisaties doen dit. Laten we eens kijken naar Nederlandse. Ik kan het mij niet voorstellen dat er in Ned. 1 is die scans van hoofden laat maken. Die kunnen dus allemaal opdoeken al dus meneer UFC?

Denk dat UFC zich op die manier ook wel min of meer indekt tegen eventuele schadeclaims

Je pakt 50 miljoen per show, betaalt 1 miljoen aan salarissen en je speelt mooi weer met een scan, hij doet het goed die man.

Waarom zou hij een scan gaan maken als er geen symptomen zijn. Geen arts die daar aan gaat meedoen. Lijkt me alleen zinvol bij langdurig knockout enzo en als dat het geval is wordt de vechter sowieso al opgenomen. Gewoon slimme marketing.
