Denis Smoldarev (3-0) is still making his first steps in professional MMA, but this big and strong Estonian heavyweight is not the beginner in the world of combat sports. On the last world combat sambo championship in Lithuania he lost only to the eventual world champion Martin Marinkov from Bulgaria and earned bronze medal. One year before he lost to Kirill Sidelnikov in the final of the European championship and got silver medal in 2010.
Less than one week later after combat sambo championship Denis made his M-1 debut in the quarterfinal fight of M-1 Selection. The fight against Niyaz Safarov was not easy, but Denis won in the first round and advanced to the semifinal.

His future opponent, experienced stand-up fighter Denis Komkin (13-7) always has puncher’s chance against any opponent. He took a break for one and a half year, just to prove his knockout power once again in M-1 Selection quarterfinal match against Ruslan Stepanyan. It was over in only 1:37.

This time Denis is going to put his opponent in semifinal of M-1 Selection to sleep to become the first finalist of the heavyweight tournament. Don’t blink when these two will step into the ring!
