Mooi eerste gevecht binnen de UFC, waarom hem een mindere tegenstander geven terwijl toch iedereen weet dat hij bij de top hoort.

Ik denk dat het wel een goede match is voor Gerard, Boksen/kickboxen kan hij ook goed. Ik weet nog zo dat die een k-1 wedstijd had tegen die Japanner waar Aerts tot 100kg tegen verloor.

Kyotaro, dezelfde Japanner die ook van Saki won en Manhoef ko sloeg werd ronduit getooled door Gegard. Staand moet Mousasi hem ook gewoon kunnen hebben, het enige waar Gus daar in zijn voordeel is, is met zijn lengte. Maar door zijn "wilde" stijl zie ik Gegard hem makkelijk counteren.

x2, moet kunnen. Als ik naar Silva kijk tijdens pride, heeft die tegenwoordig wel veel meer zo'n soort van "fedor" status over zoch als toen volgens mij. Iedereen ziet hem echt als onoverwinnelijk.

Ik denk dat Mousasi wat meer professionele hulp in zijn begeleiding nodig heeft, ik krijg bij hem het idee dat het allemaal iets te veel vrijheid blijheid is. Als hij wat meer ondersteuning krijgt met bv supplementen en weight cuts zou dat geen problemen moeten geven.

Ik kan me natuurlijk vergissen, maar volgens mij valt er veel meer uit te halen dan hij nu doet. En dat voor iemand die nu al serieus goed bezig is. Zijn standup is zeker een van de beste in de lhw divisie, misschien wel de beste. Misschien komt het omdat hij een relaxte/ nonchalante houding heeft.

Akira Corassani vs. Robbie Peralta official for UFC on FUEL TV 9

A previously reported featherweight bout between Akira Corassani (10-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Robbie Peralta (16-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) now is official for UFC on FUEL TV 9.

MMAjunkie earlier this week was first to report the booking, and UFC officials late Tuesday announced its inclusion on the card.

UFC on FUEL TV 9 takes place April 6 event at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. The event will be the UFC's second in Sweden following this past April's UFC on FUEL TV 2. UFC on FUEL TV 9 will be headlined by a light heavyweight matchup between Alexander Gustafsson (14-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and recently Strikeforce crossover Gegard Mousasi (33-3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC). The event's main card will air on FUEL TV following prelims on Facebook.

Corassani and Peralta originally were targeted for next month's UFC 156 event, but an illness forced Corassani pull out of the bout.

Corassani, a semifinalist on Season 14 of "The Ultimate Fighter," made his official UFC debut in September and picked up a split-decision win over Andy Ogle at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in England.

Peralta in September knocked out Jason Young in 23 seconds. After beating Mike Lullo in his UFC debut in September 2011, Peralta had a TKO win over Mackens Semerzier at UFC on FOX 1 reversed to a no contest after replays showed a headbutt, not a punch, dropped Semerzier. But he hasn't lost in his past 10 fights.

Mousasi was nog niet volgroeid toen hij als MW vocht. Dat moet hij nu echt niet meer doen als hij zn conditie op peil wilt houden.

Nu ik er meer over nadenk, we weten allemaal dat Gegard meer skills heeft dan de Zweed dus het gaat allemaal om zijn mentaliteit. En dan vraag ik, hoeveel vechters zijn zo kalm en zelfverzekerd als Mousasi? Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat het UFC gebeuren teveel zal worden. Mousasi sloopt de Zweed op weg naar LHW kampioenschap.

Besam Yousef vs. Papy Abedi joins UFC on FUEL TV 9 lineup

A welterweight bout between Swedish fighters Besam Yousef (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Papy Abedi (8-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) is slated for UFC on FUEL TV 9.

MMAjunkie today confirmed the bout with event sources. kimura es initially reported it.

Yousef vs. Abedi likely will be part of the prelims.

Yousef fights for the first time since the UFC's first event in Sweden, UFC on FUEL TV 2, where he suffered a submission loss to Simeon Thoresen this past April. Prior to the fight, Yousef opened his career with a 6-0 mark that included five stoppage victories.

Abedi likely is in a must-win situation. After starting his career with an 8-0 mark on the European circuit, the Swedish-Congolese fighter signed with the UFC. However, his two appearances have resulted in submission losses to Thiago Alves and James Head.

Pickett-Easton, Brimage-McGregor added to UFC on FUEL TV 9 in Sweden

A pair of fights has been added to April's UFC on FUEL TV 9 card in Sweden.

Brad Pickett (22-7 MMA, 2-2 UFC) meets Mike Easton (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) in a bantamweight matchup, while promotional newcomer Conor McGregor (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC), a highly touted two-division champion for Cage Warriors, makes his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage (6-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) in a featherweight bout. UFC officials on Thursday confirmed the fights through Swedish MMA site Kimura.se.

Pickett will be looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss at UFC 155 to Eddie Wineland that set him back a bit in the bantamweight pack. That loss snapped a two-fight win streak for the former WEC standout. In September, he picked up a "Knockout of the Night" bonus after dropping Yves Jabouin with one punch, befitting his "One Punch" nickname, at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in his home country of England.

Easton will be looking for a return to the win column, as well, after having his eight-fight win streak snapped in December with a unanimous decision loss to Raphael Assuncao at UFC on FOX 5. Before that, he won his first three bouts with a TKO of Byron Bloodworth and decision wins over Jared Papazian and Ivan Menjivar.

McGregor, from Ireland, is coming off a first-round knockout of Ivan Buchinger at Cage Warriors 51 on New Year's Eve to win that promotion's lightweight title. He already had the 145-pound belt following a second-round submission of Dave Hill at Cage Warriors 47 this past June. McGregor owns eight straight wins, and all 12 of his career victories have come by stoppage – with 11 by knockout.

Brimage in September won his fourth straight and improved to 3-0 in the UFC with a unanimous decision win over Jimy Hettes at UFC 152. The "TUF 14" cast member has all three of his UFC wins by decision.

Adlan Amagov-Chris Spang added to UFC on FUEL TV 9 in Sweden

The official Strikeforce crossover to the UFC will continue in Sweden with a new welterweight matchup for UFC on FUEL TV 9.

According to a report from Swedish website Aftonbladet, Sweden native Chris Spang will meet fellow Strikeforce vet Adlan Amagov in April.

UFC on FUEL TV 9 takes place April 6 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. Headlining the event is a light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi. The event's main card airs on FUEL TV following prelims on Facebook.

Amagov went 3-1 while in Strikeforce, including knockouts of Anthony Smith and Keith Berry, the latter coming this past August in just 48 seconds. Since losing the opening fight of his pro career, he has gone 11-1-1 with a knockout loss to Robbie Lawler keeping him from being unbeaten. But for the fight against Spang, the former light heavyweight and middleweight will continue dropping down in weight. He'll make his debut at welterweight for the fight.

Spang will fight in his native Sweden for the first time since his pro debut in October 2008. While with Strikeforce, Spang went 1-1. He dropped a unanimous decision to Ricky Legere in his debut with the promotion, but rebounded in May with a first-round knockout of Nah-Shon Burrell. Four of his five wins have come by first-round stoppage.
