Jemyma Betrian zal a.s. zaterdag, de 7e juni in het Pechanga Resort in Temecula, California haar wereldtitel in het bantamgewicht van de WBC in het MuayThai verdedigen tegen de Engelse Christi Brereton. Het zal de tweede maal zijn dat Jemyma als titelhoudster de titel verdedigt. Nadat zij deze wereldtitel op 11 november 2012 won de Australische Diana Caverly verdedigde zij de titel reeds eenmaal en met succes door Marcela Soto op KO te verslaan.
Ter voorbereiding op dit gevecht vertrok Jemyma naar haar het eiland waar zij 23 geleden werd geboren om zich hier zo optimaal mogelijk voor te bereiden. Hier werd haar verblijf overigens niet on opgemerkt door o.a. de media. Ook gaf Jemyma tussen haar voorbereiding een seminar in het MuayThai / Kickboksen.

Onderweg van Curacao naar California kwam Jemyma nog een bekendheid tegen in de vorm van Tyresse Gibson (oa Transformers, Four Brothers, Legion en Fast & Furious).
Ondertussen is de weging geweest en zal vanavond het gevecht zijn.
Hier nog videobeelden uit Curacao van de voorbereiding van Jemyma op haar gevecht vanavond.

Jemyma heeft gisterenavond succesvol haar WBC wereldtitel in het MuayThai verdedigt. Begin 2e ronde werden de vele lichaamstoten de Engelse Christi Brereton teveel en won Jemyma de partij op TKO in de 2e ronde.
