FIGHTNIGHT PROMOTIONS II ism FIGHTS AT THE BORDER

For their second event Fightnight Promotions joined forces with Fights at the Border VII in Lommel, Belgium. On the main card of this event thirteen fights containing eight B-Class fights and five A-Class fights. These A-Class fights included a Belgium title fight and a European title fight of the WFCA.






Mohamed Elhamzaoui defeated Oliver Simonson from Denmark on points, scoring some great back kicks against his Thai style oriented opponent. Clyves Tjampens scored a nice victory on TKO in the second round against Bas Peeters. The ladies fight of the evening was between Isabelle Colson and Marleen Okx. After two close rounds it was Marleen Okx, coached in her corner by 4-times K-1 champion Ernesto Hoost, who took the fight in the last round to her favour.

Torfs Rajco started his fight very strong and totally outclassed his opponent Nick de Blaes in the first round with solid knees and liver punches. In this first round Nick de Blaes went down by a liver punch and had to give all to survive this round. Half way the second round it seems Torfs Rajco had given his best and Nick de Blaes came back in the fight. After three rounds Torfs Rajco won the fight on points. Salim El Amrani defeated his Greek opponent Amot Antoni on points and Jente van Hul made a nice TKO victory in the third round over Sinan kocabas.

besides the K-1 and modified Muaythai fights there was also an MMA fight between Maarten Wouters and Islam Aboubakarov. In the first round Maarten Wouters fought himself in full mount position and started a ground and pound. Trying to escape the ground and pound Islam Aboubakarov turned his back to Maarten Wouters who went for an armlock giving Islam Aboubakarov no other opportunity to tape out.





Mohammed Hendouf gave Yasin Demir a hard fight with strong punches and high kicks which resulted in two downs for Yasin Demir. At the end of the fight Mohammed Hendouf went for a KO but Yasin Demir was too though to go down. Winner on points Mohammed Hendouf.

Youssef Boulahtari, who came from a victory over Marco Pique on the first Fightnight Promotions event, faced Cedric de Keirsmaeker for the middleweight championship of Belgium. From the start Youssef Boulahtari brought the fight to Cedric de Keismaeker with big stamina and powerful punches. In the fourth round Youssef Boulahtari was ways ahead on points when Cedric de Keirsmaeker hit him like a sniper with a sharp knee to head. After the 8-count Cedric de Keirsmaeker went for the kill and the referee stopped the contest after another 8-count.





Fouad Abdi booked the fastest KO victory of the evening. At the begin of the first round he hit his opponent Majandinov Junus with a hard spinning backfist which resulted in a KO. Engin Kutuk also won his fight by a first round KO knocking out Fazhan Khalid from Denmark. Hicham Moujahid won on points VS Nafi Bilalovski.

In the last fight of the evening Levi Kuyken from Belgium and Patrick van Rees from the Netherlands faced each other for the European belt of the WFCA. In a hard fight Levi Kuyken made a very strong third round giving Patrick van Rees two times an 8-count. Levi Kuyken controlled the fight and went for a unanimous decision on points after five rounds. It was the major of Lommel herself who crowned Levi Kuyken with the European belt.





Fightnight Promotions will be back on the 12th of March in Turnhout, Belgium with a big show between Thailand and Europe on Full Muaythai rules!

Chris en Mario, super bedankt voor deze reportage. O ja, de kerstman in de ring als scheidsrechter ?? LOL. Afscheren die baard Rick. Heb ik ook gedaan nadat ik met de fiets gevallen was en twee jonge Marokkaanse kerels riepen " O jee, dat opaatje (!!!) is gevallen. We moeten helpen". Hebben ze dus ook gedaan.Twee toppertjes dus, maar 1 uur later was de kin weer glad.
