I have already pointed out that Said, his trainer, knows this very well. Since it is obvious that his body cannot take a lot of stress anymore, they focused on basic stuff like jabs and 2 or 3 combos. The main strategy of Said was to temper Badr and force him to stay focused and not go all in like in the Benny fight. As mentioned earlier, they both know (and all of us know) that Badr still has the power and the agility to make some serious damage. He knocked down Rico twice and everybody else at least once. The issue with him is .... what happens next after the KN. He seems to loose focus and starts to brawl with these guys He seems to have absolutely no respect for the new generation kickboxers and believes them to be amateurs next to him. This is a big mistake and it is simply not true. Ernesto Hoost told in an interview of Bonjasky that todays kickboxers are technically better than the old guard. I have made a tread about that interview, check it out on the forum.

In a way Badr has become predictable. Every trainer knows that he will begin with quick jabs and power kicks and after some time he will come forward with heavy 3 combo punches to finish the business. Nick Hemmers new this already. The strategy of Arek was to absorb the early jabs and heavy kicks of badr and when he comes forward with the heavy crosses to the head and liver, hit him with either a quick jab in the face either a kick to the front leg to disbalance him. If you watch the fight, Arkadius managed to kick out his leg at least twice and punched him in the face in the moment of the attack with jabs twice. The left high kick was used also by the Polish, but Badr was able to block it that time by having a tight bar covering his head.

Badr`s style was developed by Big Mike and it was a very efficient one at the time. In this respect, his style did not changed much over the years, maybe he is more patient in the first round but that`s it. I have watched some earlier Badr fights, his guard was always down when he marched to through the big bombs. While back in the day few fighters responded with a counter, in his last fights both Benny and Arkadius got him with counters. Kickboxing evolved but his style remained the same. So, that`s why he (is) was so surprised. He does not understands why he keeps loosing.
