Former King of the Cage Canada heavyweight champion Tim Hague earned a 21-13 record in MMA, before trying professional boxing at age 34. Hague lost four of his past five MMA fights via KO, which would seem to a dubious base for a move to prize fighting. However, he was licensed to box and faced former Edmonton Eskimos football player Adam Braidwood on Friday at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Hague suffered a KO loss, and was taken to the hospital where he was reportedly declared brain dead.Prior to the fight, Hague posted a video on his Facebook account, describing Braidwood as 7-1.“I’ll fight anybody,” said Hague. “I’m one-and-two, Adam’s seven-and-one. He won a world title in his last fight. But I’m stepping up on a few weeks’ notice because he was mentioning he didn’t have an opponent and I’m always game.”MMA fighter Sarah Kaufman posted a video of the immediate aftermath.
